In September 1999, to accommodate growing demand and to increase
market share, the Tribe made a decision to expand the gaming, hotel
and resort amenities.
The Silver Star Hotel and Casino currently operates at capacity
and is unable to satisfy existent demands.
These capacity constraints have prevented the property from accommodating
a significant number of additional customers.
With expansion plans the property will be positioned as a premier
destination resort which will further distinguish the overall product
from current and future competition. On November 16, 2000, ground
was officially broken for the expansion of the Golden Moon Hotel
and Casino and the total resort property was officially renamed
The Pearl River Resort at Choctaw, Mississippi.
On hand to assist Chief Phillip Martin, Chairman of the Choctaw
Resort Development Enterprise, in the festivities was former astronaut
Buzz Aldrin, the second man to set foot on the Moon.
