Choctaw Transit is operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians (MBCI). The service is aimed at providing transit service to the estimated 10,000 members of the tribe, as well as individuals in the surrounding communities. Choctaw Transit provides routes to East Central Community College in Decatur and Meridian Community College, connecting tribal members with education opportunities. Choctaw Transit also provides many trips for dialysis patients, of which there are approximately 60 who use the service weekly. Regular trips are made to Bogue Chitto (four times daily), Meridian (twice daily), and Jackson (once per day). These services provide individuals greater access and mobility.
Current public transportation trips are provided to all Tribal communities through a combination of demand-response and fixed-schedule service. The fixed-schedule services include four daily round-trips to Bogue Chitto, two to Meridian, and one to Jackson.
