Family and Community Services

The Department of Family and Community Services coordinates the services of seven major service programs operated by the MBCI. These programs are dedicated to providing services to families who are, through a standard eligibility process, determined to be in need. Each program can be accessed directly and emergency services can be accessed on a 24-hour basis.

Children & Family Services Program
The CFS Program focuses on the safety and protection of Choctaw children and links the family with services to ensure a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.

Choctaw Children's Advocacy Center
The mission of the CCAC is to provide interventions in a safe, neutral environment that extends hope and healing for abused children and their families.

  • Services: Conduct effective therapeutic intervention for alleged abused children & families, comprehensive case management services, educational and support services to children and families impacted by child abuse

The Elderly Nutrition & Social Program
The Elderly Nutrition & Social Program is an organization of the tribal government that provides services to tribal elders (age 58 and older) of the reservation. The intent is to improve the quality of life for elders through fostering an environment of quality, dignity and pride.

Assistance Services
This program provides direct resources to eligible Choctaw families by delivery of supplemental, supportive and/or financial services. Personnel also provide counseling and support to the elderly.

Family Violence & Victim’s Services
The FVVS Program assists Choctaw families by providing information, assistance, education, and direct services on a variety of victim issues regarding domestic violence and sexual assault to promote a life on the Choctaw Reservation that is free from violence. Food Distribution Program
This program provides USDA foods to eligible Choctaw households residing on the reservation or in the service area based on family size and income.
